Presidents Highlights 2008!
 |
Slight increase in fees
in 2008 for all Divisions |
 |
Parent and Player Code
of Conduct introduced in 2008 |
 |
Once again we had a
great turnout in 2007 with over 800 boys and girls
from ages 4 to 18+ playing baseball |
 |
We liked red coach’s
shirts so much in 2007 the League has decided to
continue that colour for 2008 |
 |
The RYBL is looking at
an option to incorporate in 2008 as a not for profit
organization |
 |
The League in 2007 had
54 house league teams and 12 Rep or Select teams
playing out of 21 baseball diamonds |
 |
The City of Toronto
Parks and Recreation, upgraded the following
diamonds in 2007 – Queensway South and North, both
diamonds at Norseman Park, Ourlands and Tom Riley |
 |
Additional and improved
skills clinics for both players and coaches
scheduled for 2008 in coordination with ProTeach and
Frozen Ropes |
 |
In cooperation with the
City of Toronto Parks and Recreation, the RYBL will
focus attention on the following diamonds for field
upgrades in 2008 – Ourlands, Tom Riley, Lambton
Kingsway North and Westway |
 |
Our used baseball
equipment was again sent to the Dominican Republic
in December of 2007 |
 |
This $3000.00 pitching
machine will not be replaced in 2008 as the
construction of new batting cage and recreational
facilities at Queensway Park has not been completed. |

Taylor Whitney Remembered (#25) |
|

This year all Royal York baseball players will be wearing a
memorial crest on their uniform bearing the Number 25 to honour the memory of
Taylor Whitney.
The crest is intended as a memorial to Taylor who played for
Royal York from the age of six until his death at age 17. It
is also meant as a reminder of the real risks that young men
and women face in the transition to adulthood.
