  RYBL Coaches Code of Conduct

The objective of the Royal York Baseball League (RYBL) is to provide an enriching baseball experience for all players at all levels. We will strive at all times to provide an environment in which children can feel safe playing and in which parents can feel confident that their children are safe.

Coaches within the RYBL will:

bullet Treat all individuals with respect and dignity
bullet Provide a playing environment which promotes equal opportunity
bullet Provide a playing environment which promotes safety
bullet Prohibit discriminatory practices
bullet Prohibit harassment* in any form
bullet Never leave a minor (under 16yrs) player or umpire alone after a game and never be alone with a minor player or umpire

(In the event that a parent, guardian or a person with authorization to be with the player does not show up after a game to take the player home, the coach may call the police and ask them to escort the player home after all reasonable effort has been taken to reach the parent, guardian or person of authority)

bullet Refrain from the use of drugs, alcohol, tobacco and abusive, profane language at all baseball events.

*Harassment takes many forms but can generally be defined as a comment, conduct or gesture directed towards an individual or group of individuals, which is insulting, intimidating, humiliating, malicious, degrading or offensive. Sexual harassment refers to any sexual advances, requests, suggestion or activity of a sexual nature that is unwelcome by the recipient.

Taylor Whitney (#25)
Remembered

Taylor Whitney

This year all Royal York baseball players will be wearing a memorial crest on their uniform bearing the Number 25 to honour the memory of Taylor Whitney.

The crest is intended as a memorial to Taylor who played for Royal York from the age of six until his death at age 17. It is also meant as a reminder of the real risks that young men and women face in the transition to adulthood.
